Are you looking for costume inspiration for the upcoming Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World coming up in November? The race weekend will take place November 3-6 2022, with a 5K on Friday, 10K on Saturday, and half marathon on Sunday. The races have been sold out for a while, though bibs do become available sporadically on the site (follow this Twitter account to get notifications for Disney race availability: DisneyRace Availability).
While Wine & Dine weekend will always be about the food, this year's theming is also heavy on cultural stories, and music. Themes for the races are as follows:
5K: Coco; 10K: Raya and the Last Dragon; Half Marathon: Soul; and for the Challenge: Genie from Aladdin
If you're looking to lean into the music theming, here are some easy costume ideas for running the races. These are costumes, costume pieces, and accessories designed for Halloween and general play, so be sure to do a test run in or with these items before race day to avoid any chafing or other unwanted side-effects! Some of the more elaborate outfits are surely best suited for the easy pace of the 5K!
Dress up as a recognizable musician or rock star with these easy ready-to-wear costumes. Use these as running costume starters or inspiration.
This one will work best if you've already got a glorious head of black hair with impressive sideburns, but a wig (not included) could fix that. This is a polyester jumpsuit that will remind everyone of The King. The jeweled embellishments on the front of the jumpsuit costume are printed, making it more running-friendly. You'll probably want to add dark sunglasses for this look, which might make running in the dark around Disney World a bit exciting.
This outfit comes with a tulle-skirted black mini-dress, cropped fishnet leggings, fingerless gloves, tulle wristbands and hairbow, plus long beaded necklace and layered belt. You'll evoke early Madonna with this look, but it surely needs a test run. You might need to wear leggings under or instead of the fishnets, and the tulle at the wrists might be a chafe-point.
This one should be easy to modify for race day. The Prince-esque jacket and dickey top with fluffy jabot can easily be worn over polyester running gear for comfort. wear your own black leggings to complete the costume. Add round mirrored sunglasses and a curly black wig (neither included) to complete the look.
This costume includes the bright yellow jacket with extra buckles and white pants with red stripe. This one would be easy to DIY, by drawing or painting on a yellow tech top and adding red ribbon to white leggings. But if you're looking for a more authentic costume, consider this one. A thick costume chevron mustache (not included) would be a must for this.

Look like the lead singer of Poison with this accessory set that includes a long straight reddish-brown wig, 3 different bandanas (red shown), biker-style gloves, and sunglasses. This set would look great with a black tank top and denim-look leggings.

Too bad it's difficult for PhotoPass to capture the moonwalk in photos -- because this is a fun accessory set to dress up as Michael Jackson at the height of his Thriller-era popularity. This would go best with a sequined top but you could easily wear this with silver or black pieces.
