This is a list of the upcoming race events for which I'm registered.
Since I'm still working through knee pain that's been plaguing me for a couple of years, I'm doing a lot of walking at these races. It's still fun -- after all, the party's at the back!
This run is at my local park, Gemini Springs, where I like to sign up for all the races. I ran the 2022 Bunny Hop 5K and aim to beat last year's time on race day, April 9, 2023.
I'm in for the second annual Springtime Surprise, again for the 3-race challenge. The races will take place April 14-16, 2023.
I'll be running this local charity race for the fourth time on May 6, 2023.
I'll participate in this local DeBary race on May 20, 2023. I've run this race (and its previous iteration) three times before, including last year's event.
I had to participate in the inaugural running of this race virtually last year. I'm in for the in-person experience this time, on November 5, 2023.
I don't know what got into me but apparently I registered for this event, which consists of a 5K on Saturday morning and a Half Marathon on Sunday morning. These races take place on December 16 and 17, 2023.
OMG races are returning to Disneyland after a 5+ year hiatus, and boy, are runners excited! The races, plus kid's runs and yoga, all sold out within an hour! I was lucky to grab a half marathon bib, and Arthur and I are both in for the 5K. I wanted a Dumbo Double Dare bib, but they sold out first. I might try to upgrade to the challenge, but for now I'm super happy I got in for the half, and have a chance to get my second Coast-to-Coast Challenge medal. Race weekend begins with the expo on January 11, 2024, and concludes with the half on January 14, 2024.
Due to an unfortunate case of bursitis in my left knee, I opted to convert this race entry to the virtual option. Race day is March 25, 2023 and I might try to complete the event on the morning of, testing out my knee after several weeks of rest.
This annual race series in Osprey, Florida, has been on my bucket list for a while. The races benefit the Friends of Oscar Scherer Park and the threatened Florida Scrub-Jay. Since the races had to go virtual I decided to sign up. I was a late registrant for the event which took place from January 2nd to January 10th, 2021 (I signed up on the 10th). I am hoping to complete this at our local Florida Scrub-Jay hotspot, Lyonia Preserve, but I don't have a date in mind just yet. And I still hope to participate in person some day.
This race raises money to help save Florida's Black Bears by subsidizing bear-resistant trash cans for Wekiva Basin residents. I couldn't attend in person due to travel, but wanted to support the cause. Race day was October 22, 2022. I'm not sure when I'll complete this one virtually.
