Prior to 2020, this page would have only shown in-person races. I jumped on the virtual race bandwagon hard during 2020, but at the start of 2021 I felt pretty virtualed-out.
After I got my second Pfizer shot in mid-April 2021, I felt comfortable attending in-person events again, and started signing up for more races.
In mid July 2021, I had a big setback with knee pain and finally saw an orthopedic doctor for help. Unfortunately, prescribed physical therapy is not helping as I had hoped. I'll be trying different treatments to get back on track. Meanwhile, I'll be mostly walking upcoming race events.
I transferred my 2019 Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Foundation Half Marathon registration to this race. One deferment and two cancellations later, we'll see if I feel up to running this 10K on February 13, 2022. With a full and half marathon being held concurrently, this one should be walker-friendly.
This race was scheduled to take place on March 6, 2021 but was postponed to September 25, 2021. I had a conflict with the new date so I deferred to the 2022 event, now taking place on March 5, 2022.
This annual race series in Osprey, Florida, has been on my bucket list for a while. The races benefit the Friends of Oscar Scherer Park and the threatened Florida Scrub-Jay. Since the races had to go virtual I decided to sign up. I was a late registrant for the event which took place from January 2nd to January 10th, 2021 (I signed up on the 10th). I hope to complete this soon and I still hope to participate in person some day.
This race was scheduled to take place on September 12, 2020. Participants received an email that the event would be postponed to 2021 with no further details. On May 3, 2021, we were able to re-register for the 2021 event at no charge. I selected virtual as I plan to be out of town on race day (September 11, 2021).
